The Wave House

Architecture

Project Description

The Wave House was conceived as a water sports school by the beach. Since it’s located in a sand dune, we had to create a modular building, with low impact in the landscape, made with sustainable materials.

In this small prefabricated pavilion, space and organization are key since we had to maximize the available area for equipment storage, washing, drying and shower area, student and client reception, and an exterior deck for lounging and watching the sunset.

The project follows the public walkway axis, facing the beach to the West. In the East façade, the building has no windows, for the privacy of the neighboring fields.

We walk to the pavilion from the North, by a luxurious promenade of pine trees and dune vegetation, where we find a white plane that invites us to get in.

Is in the other side of this plane that we find the deck for washing boards and other equipment and leave them to dry before it’s stored.

The pergola and deck that surround the building offers both a space to lounge, and a more private area to shower.

Inside is the reception area, storage and display of the equipment for both school students and rentals.
