Project Description

This client came to us so we could design a retreat for their Family, away from the buzz of the big city. They chose a stone ruin in a quiet location, immersed in the countryside land and soundscape, in a peaceful Portuguese village. Our challenge was to make the small house appear bigger and modern, without losing its traditional ambiance and character.

From here, you can hear the sound of the creek a dozen meters away, as your day is marked by the sound of sheep cries and bells.

We were excited to explore the traditional building methods and retrieve the old schist house its characteristic rural, cottage-like, allure.

This will make the perfect retreat, a place to unwind, forget about the passage of time, phone calls, emails, and meetings, and indulge in a full countryside pure and crisp environment.
